Mysuru: Police have mapped the procession route, set up women's help desks and introduced a QR-based helpline for families during the ten days of festivities.
Officials said the decision follows months of consultation with elected representatives, resident welfare associations and technical experts, and that detailed timelines will be published on the government's website.
Residents in Mysuru have long raised concerns about uneven service delivery, especially in newly developed areas on the city's periphery. The new plan prioritises those areas in its first phase.

Opposition members welcomed the move but sought a third-party audit of the work and quarterly progress reports. The administration said both suggestions would be considered.
