Mangaluru: Exporters say shipments of cashew kernels and coffee from New Mangalore Port rose sharply in September, led by demand from West Asia and Europe.
Officials said the decision follows months of consultation with elected representatives, resident welfare associations and technical experts, and that detailed timelines will be published on the government's website.
Residents in Mangaluru have long raised concerns about uneven service delivery, especially in newly developed areas on the city's periphery. The new plan prioritises those areas in its first phase.
