Mandya: Officials said storage in the Krishnaraja Sagar and Kabini reservoirs is sufficient to meet Bengaluru's drinking-water needs until the next monsoon.
Officials said the decision follows months of consultation with elected representatives, resident welfare associations and technical experts, and that detailed timelines will be published on the government's website.
Residents in Mandya have long raised concerns about uneven service delivery, especially in newly developed areas on the city's periphery. The new plan prioritises those areas in its first phase.
